   [ In Sickbay, Bev scans Geordi's head with a medical tricorder ]

   [ Picard, talking in the briefing room ]

  Picard:  How did it happen, how did we get there?

A STARSHIP COLLISION LIES DEAD AHEAD...

   [ A Reliant-type Starship emerges from a stellar could ]

   [ Picard and Troi on the bridge, emergency power in effect ]

  Troi:  We have to get out of here, now!

CAN THE CREW ESCAPE THEIR OWN DESTINY?

   [ Data rapidly works a computer console, the display fills up with "3"s ]

   [ Starship shown approaching on the main viewscreen ]

   [ Bev, standing at a bridge station ]

  Bev:  Casualty reports coming in from all over the ship.

   [ The bridge is rapidly filled with flames ]

  Picard:  All hands, abandon ship!

   [ The Enterprise shakes and disintegrates, throwing off 
     large amounts of energy and particles as it explodes ]
