   [ Borg survivor laying in the wreckage of a ship;  Bev, Riker,
     and Worf approach;  the area is covered by ice and snow ]

  Worf:  Kill it now.

...SPARKS A MORAL DILEMMA...

  Bev:  We can't leave him here.  
        He won't survive.

...AND VIOLENT MEMORIES COLLIDE.

   [ Picard, Geordi, and Bev watch the Borg in a detention cell ]

   [ Picard and Guinan talking, in his quarters ]

  Picard:  He's not a person, dammit!

   [ Guinan and Picard talking ]

   [ Back on the planet, Bev takes readings while Riker and Worf
     draw their phasers on three approaching Borg soldiers ]
